Cleaning the Kitchen: How to Clean a Coffee Maker

Cleaning a dirty coffee maker is easy and doesn't take any fancy solution to do so, all I use is some white distilled vinegar and tap water!

Begin by filling the pot with white distilled vinegar.

Pour the white distilled vinegar into the coffee maker then begin the brewing cycle. (Make sure there isn't any coffee in the filter before turning on the maker!)

Once the brewing cycle is complete, turn the machine off and pour the hot vinegar down the sink drain. (Pour baking soda down the sink before hand then the chemical reaction from the vinegar will unclog the drain!)

Rinse the coffee maker twice by brewing two cycles of clean tap water.

Wipe down the exterior with a disinfectant and it's ready to use!

I have yet to try this with citrus infused vinegar but I plan to experiment next time! How do you clean your coffee maker?
